District Announcements
Re-Registration for all Students in Grades 5, 8 and 10
In order to ensure that all students attending the Wayne Township Public Schools are residents of Wayne, we will once again be requiring the re-registration of students at certain grade levels.  Parents of students at three grade levels (fifth grade going into sixth grade, eighth grade going into ninth grade and tenth grade going into eleventh grade) will be required to re-register their children in the coming months at their child’s current school.

For example, if you have a child currently in eighth grade at George Washington Middle School, you should report to George Washington Middle School to re-register your child. This process has been streamlined, and it is not a full re-registration, but rather a document review that should take approximately five minutes.

The re-registration will start at the beginning of April.  All registration documents must be provided to your child’s school by the last day of school in June. Parents of currently enrolled students in grades five, eight and ten will be receiving a letter from your child’s school in the coming weeks with information about how to re-register your student.
Wayne Day 2017
SAVE THE DATE:  The annual Wayne Day festival is being held on Sunday, June 11, 2017.  This year mark's the 25th Anniversary of Wayne Day and will prove to be a spectacular day for all that attend. For more information, visit the event webpage at www.wayneday.com.

Exciting AW Website Additions

There are two new additions to the AW Website.

Have you missed any of our AW Around the Clock episodes?
Well, now you can catch up on or re-watch any of these broadcasts by accessing the videos through the School Communications tab and by clicking the AW Around the Clock tab.

Remember all of the great conversations and work we've done through our guidance and homeroom character education lessons?
You can revisit those collaborative ideas by viewing a slideshow of the artifacts located in the School Communications, AW Activities Slideshow tab.

Mandatory 8th Grade Transition Forums
Wayne Township Public Schools is providing mandatory substance abuse forums for all current 8th Grade parents and students.  The forums for parents and students are approximately one hour long and are being offered on Monday, March 27th at Wayne Valley and Thursday, March 30th at Wayne Hills.  Click here to access the memo, which provides more detailed information regarding the forums, including the permission slips to attend, alphabetical groupings and specified times.

Middle School PARCC Testing Dates

Middle School PARCC Schedule 2017

This year, because of a great influx of technology, we have been able to minimize the total days of impact due to PARCC from eighteen to ten.  Each grade will be testing a total of five days, testing Language Arts then Math.  To shorten the number of impacted days two changes were made.  First, on some days students will be testing in both the morning and afternoon.  Second, 6th and 8th grade will be testing at the same time.  (For further details about scheduling see below.)  In addition this year, since Wayne was selected by the state for field test participation, each student will take one additional section of ELA.  There will be no testing on April 27th for Take Your Child To Work Day.
